It’s been a little while since there has been a post on this weblog, or ‘blog,’ so I’ve decided to give a minor update. Given that I’m living primarily in College Station, without roommates, and only work 3-4 days a week, I’ve found a reasonable amount of time has opened up. The plan is to not grow insane prior to the wedding.
Yes, we are excited. That is a common question with an easy answer. The count is 52 days until liftoff, then a night in Houston, then a week in Colorado. It’s shaping up to be a pretty nice August.
There are a few books on the list. I just finished “Rage Against God” by Peter Hitchens. Notice that’s Peter, not Christopher, who is one of the primary proponents of the New Atheist movement (which, ironically, isn’t really new at all). This book talks about how Peter Hitchens, through observing the widespread corruption of the late Soviet Union, lost his faith in Atheism. If you like history and religion, as well as wit, it’s a good read. Also in the mix- “His Needs, Her Needs,” by Willard Harley. Strangely enough, men and women look for different things in a relationship. I can’t wait to keep reading so that Christina learns how to adapt to what I need. Right?
It’s been brought to my attention lately that we DO, in fact, have a handful of people reading (we peaked at 5 on June 9th and 10th!). Now, I’m not a cool pastor like my brother at thegoogers.com, and I’m not technically savvy like my friend Jon at katieandjoneichler.com, but I can at least give thanks to some of our fans.
Morgan Blake- Told us she had read it while we met her and her boyfriend Derek for dinner last night. Nice.
David Hrnchir- Probably the least suspected of the bunch. He told us he read our blog at a recent conference in San Antonio.
Josh Cook- former roommate, now married, has left us our sole comment. Thanks Josh.
Anyway, if you want to make the hall of fame, or want to support the wedding, just leave a comment. If you don’t, stop reading.
