Thank you for regularly checking back with us during our more-than-one-year leave of absence. The time has come for us to revive the blog. The last time I posted, I uploaded a video of Casper when he was 5 months old…and now we have a baby girl who is 5 months old now.
Here she is. Introducing Dawnette Adaliyah Googer.
Yes, we know. Her name is pretty culturally ambiguous. Her name is Dawnette because we love how whenever the dawn is mentioned in the Bible, it usually refers to God’s faithfulness. This one is my favorite:
“Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord;
his going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.” Hosea 6:3
I say it “usually” is associated with God’s faithfulness, because there is also this verse:
“His sneezings flash forth light,
and his eyes are like the eyelids of the dawn.” Job 41:18 (referring to Leviathan)
“Adaliyah” is Hebrew for “God is my refuge.”
(I made that headband for her yesterday.)
Well, hopefully these pictures have hooked you in. We will be back.
